Alamgir Masud's diverse working career includes 9 years in the military, firstly as a fighter pilot in the Pakistan Air Force and later as the operations officer in the Abu Dhabi Air Force's first Mirage fighter wing. At the conclusion of his military career, he went on to establish two successful businesses. The first company, Dhabi Enterprises, was situated in Abu Dhabi, and marketed the services and products of over 15 multinational corporations. Alamgir then spent the next 15 years as director of a marine construction company, McDermott Arabia Company Ltd, in Saudi Arabia.
On returning to London, Alamgir was Senior Adviser for 10 years to the D Group, a business networking and development group of some 100 members from blue chip to specialist enterprises. The Group has a strong international slant and network as well as an established national presence in business as a whole.
In 2007, Alamgir moved to China and is currently based in Beijing where he is a director with a Chinese oil and gas consultancy.
His strong interest in Community Safety began when he was a voluntary mentor for two years with the London charity, Youth at Risk. He is now advising CSD on business development in the Middle East, South and East Asia.
Alamgir graduated with a B.A. Honours degree in Oriental Studies (Islamic History and Classical Arabic) from Brasenose College, Oxford and a B.A. from the Punjab University in History and Politics. He completed two years course work in Economics and International Relations at the London School of Economics.
